Handy Marketing Apps

The majority of smartphone owners will have at least an app or two installed on their device. Even if they haven’t installed it themselves, smartphones come with a whole bundle of apps pre-installed straight-out-of-the-box.

So, like them or loave them, mobile applications are something we live side-by-side with these days.

Although apps may be regarded as distractions to some, to others, apps can play a real difference in the progression of your business.

From managing simple day-to-day tasks while waiting for your Mochachino to be poured… to utilising various marketing apps to maximise brand exposure, apps can enhance the way in which we work, operate & progress.

Why wait to perform business tasks from the office when you can do them on the fly?

So, let’s take a look at some of the apps that we found particularly useful. All of which made our day a little more productive & fun to play around with (once setup). Here’s a few of our faves!

Bitly

If you’re tierd of publishing rediculously long URLS, try Bitly. The Bitly app lets users shorten & brand their links to increase click-throughs while also tracking what people have clicked & when they did it. Not bad!

In addition to the web app, the mobile app allows users to view channel data, discover social metrics & understand audience engagement.

Easily connect your social networks, with optional SMS notifications to-boot! From The app also collects valuable performance insights so can add some real value to a bog-standard boring old link!

It’s worth mentioning that Enterprise users can also assign permission groups for users… directly from their phone! Neat.

Yelp for Business

The Yelp for Business app is for businesses who want to submit & publish their business to the Yelp business directory. Why wouldn’t you?

Yelp works particularly well for small businesses & attracts a footfall of millions of visitors per month… so, what are you waiting for?

Aside from the Yelp listing itself, users can leave star based reviews, which can lead… to leads!

Not only can view your business rating in real-time, you can monitor visitor engagement & leads, or reply to customers publically or in private.

Mention

Mention is one of our personal favourites as it adds something rather different to the way in which your business keeps tabs on its Comms!

Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall? Or hear about a rumour kicking around about your company? Well, now you can!

Instead of spending hours on end monitoring individual social media accounts, then scouring the net digging around for information about your firm, you can now get notified when something is ublished about your compant… regardless of where, when or how it’s been published with the super handy Mention app!

Mention lets you monitor your online reputation to get real-time alerts about any info on your business (or your competitors for that matter). Interesting.

In short, Mention notifies you every time something is published about your company. This is a great tool to keep on top of reviews, respond & resolve questions, concerns & complaints in a timely manner or simply to show the public that you care.

Trello

With working from home looking like it’s here to stay, we thought we’d feature an app called Trello.

As many are working from home these days, whether you’re a CEO, Project Manager or freelance, one of the biggest problems facing us is staying connected to stay involved in a project.

Trello bridges the gap between the office & employees homes providing the ability to view a colleagues schedule, without needing to physically be in the office. That works for us!

Although their are many other platforms offering a similar service, we found that this one simply works.
